ABOUT OUR PRACTICE

Associates in Primary Care is a practice founded by families and centered on family values.   We are an independently owned private practice and our mission is to provide personalized, compassionate, and comprehensive care to each and every patient.

The practice was founded  in the 1950's by Drs. Ben and Meyer Steingold, two brothers who practiced in Berkley and Downtown Norfolk.  They were joined by Dr. Perla J. Solinap in the 1970's and in 1984 by Dr. Daniel T. Solinap, who passed the practice onto their daughter, Dr. Lea J. Solinap Laplace and their son-in law, Dr. Peter B Laplace.    Dr. Charlene Robertson joined the practice in 2003.  

Our Providers


Dr. Lea J. Solinap Laplace graduated from the University of Virginia in 1990 with a B.A. in Economics.    She completed medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1998 and completed Internal Medicine  Residency at EVMS in 2001.    She has been  been in practice since 2001 and has been board certified in Internal Medicine since 2001. She served as an Associate professor of Clinical Internal Medicine at EVMS since 2004 and actively serves as a preceptor for EVMS medical students.   She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Society, American College of Physicians, Medical Socety of Virginia and the Norfolk Academy of Medicine.  

Dr. Peter B. Laplace graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in Psychology in 1990.   He graduated from Eastern Virginia medical school in 1999 and completed his Internal Medicine residency at EVMS in 2002.  He has been in practice and has been board certified in Internal Medicine since 2002.   He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Medical Society of Virginia and the Norfolk Academy of Medicine.   


Dr. Charlene M. Robertson graduated cum laude from Duke Universityy  in 1990 and a B. S. Biology and a B. A in French.   She received her medical degree from the University of Virginia in 1994 and also completed her Internal Medicine Residency at UVA in 1997.    She has been board certified in internal medicine since 1994.     She is a member of the American College of Physicians and actively participates in the ABIM Maintenance of Certification Program.
